I got a job.

In BIG text because it's BIG news. My aunt Krista got me a job working at Taco Time. Or rather, she got me the interview by recommending me highly (despite not knowing what I've been doing for the past 3 years), and the manager flipped over me at my interview. See, my bullshit was "exactly what we need."

I'm relieved that now when I see "NOW HIRING" signs, I can put down the guilt, dread and panic.

But now I also get to dread how badly I'm going to do, how soon I'm going to be fired, etc. and stress over that.

People have been trying to reassure me that working in fast food IS possible, even with no ability to multitask and no real working- or short-term memory to speak of.

I start tomorrow. Give me luck, universe.

I worked in fast food, and one woman could only use one arm and she worked during breakfast which for chik is one of the fastest times during the day.

Also, there was a woman with a crooked eye...and she ran drive thru...poorly. I could actually do her job way faster than she ever did it...I could actually run all drive thru by myself during peak times. But she got promoted to team leader.

Short term memory not required...unless your counting change, but you can always just count it before moving on to anything else, close the drawer when your done so you know you did it.

Good luck!!!

Liar! :P

Thank you, though. I was much less worried when I went.
