It's just another thing that women can be socially acceptable doing, but men can't. Like being bisexual, or homosexual, or even having tattoos, to a limited extent.

Somehow, it's hot for them, gross for us. I haven't figured it out yet, though, so don't ask me.

I don't usually find that attractive unless I have affection for the person. It strikes me more as a bodily-function sort of thing, which is squicky.
