Best line from a porn story that I've read today:

Pleasure came at him from every direction like cars in slow motion as they smashed into one another at an intersection, and he felt his orgasm rising.

(emphasis mine)

Nothing more needs to be said, I think.

From a post at [livejournal.com profile] weepingcock here.

HOLY SHIT, you guys.

Most of you have probably already heard this from somewhere else on your list, but I'm going to have to join the parade of people posting and say:

Holy shit, Heath Ledger [accidentally?] offed himself.

This was the first thing I saw when I logged into my XP account and brought up my homepage, and I was so hoping it was some sort of prank or false report, but it doesn't appear to be.

He was just so young. I can't even process. How do you die when you're so young?

Dear flist,

MY HAIR IS TURNING BLONDE.

Repeat, IMAGE CRISIS!

MY HAIR IS TURNING BLONDE!!1!1eleventy!

...And I have NO idea why. None.

My hair is naturally about the color 6 on this chart, I believe. It's hard to tell, but it's a fairly dark brown with warmish undertones...in the summer I used to get hints of dark auburn in it if I stayed out in the sun - but not even so much that you could really call it "highlights."

Right NOW, I've got increasing streaks of about 12 or so, and even chunks of 14-ish at the temples. I may be off a shade or so in either direction, but let's just say that this is REALLY starting to be noticeable. I first noticed this while glancing into my mall's basement washroom mirror, and I thought it was just flattering light giving my hair a pretty glow (they're new washrooms, very slick), but people have started coming up to me and blurting, "OMG YOU HAVE BLONDE IN YOUR HAIR, ARE YOU COLORING IT?!"

Now, my family does have hair that tends to run through all the available shades in the first few years of our life. When I was born, my hair was black, and it then (according to various relatives and some photographic evidence) ran through light brown, red, strawberry blonde, ash blonde, and finally deepened and settled on the darker brown I have now.

However, after toddlerhood or so, nobody's hair changes color except to grey! Right?

And yes, I know, the sun and various chemicals can bleach your hair. But a) I avoid the sun as much as possible because I hate it, and b) I've been putting the very same hair gel in my hair for a good year now. This color change seems newish (over the past few months, maybe?) AND is accelerating.

My mother and I discussed this the other night, and she suggested that perhaps the hair gel I'm using has changed its formula unannounced, and it's bleaching my hair. I was ready to accept that, and made a mental note to pick up another brand.

Then today I was messing with my hair, and suddenly realized:

Where I'm seeing reddish/blonde streaks, the ROOTS are blonde. The tips are not.

Now, wait, I thought, I do apply hair gel in the front from the roots up...

And while I was leaning in mulling this over, I suddenly noticed there's a large streak of reddish blonde IN MY LEFT EYEBROW.

I don't put hair gel IN MY EYEBROW.

And I'm just...freaking the fuck out right now. I'm not overly vain about my appearance because I don't have much to be vain ABOUT, but I will say that I have always loved my hair. True, it's a bit Harry Potter wild (and god knows how many times I've heard THAT comparison), but it's thick enough, and a rich enough color, and my eyebrows are dark and have a nice shape, and my eyelashes (not blonde yet, but if the trend continues...) are black and longish, and YES the females in my family are CRAZY JEALOUS, HAH! (My mother once commented to a hair stylist, "It's so unfair, isn't it? Why is it that the BOYS are the ones who get the thick hair and the long pretty lashes?")

I know it's just hair. It's just dead cells.

It's just that my hair is one of the few physical features about myself that I'd never want to change, and it's changing!

It's probably caused by something minor. Something I could change. But seriously, what?!

My haaaair! *mourns*

So I had quite the fun day yesterday.

I got assaulted! Wheeee! )

After THAT, Boss Lady invited me out to a movie with her and her daughter (who also works at the store) after work. (She felt very guilty, I think.) I was very reluctant to agree to go, since I felt like I was going to fall down and fall unconscious (if not necessarily faint) much of the morning, and I figured I'd just want to go home and go to sleep. Or possibly the hospital.

But I got my second wind, and BOY am I glad I went to this movie. We saw Stardust and it was UNBELIEVABLY COOL. If you get a chance to see it, DO SO.

And my boss also bought me a HUUUGE bag of popcorn and a HUUUGE orange pop, which I think was also partially thanks because we had our busiest Sunday EVER that day, and Boss's Daughter and I made $867 worth of food at lunch hour on rail. Yay.

So that was a GREAT end to a day that started off really shitty.

I don't have much of a bruise yet - just a few broken capillaries visible - but Mom warned me that ribs DO bruise nicely, so I should have a technicolor dreamcoat eventually. And holy crap were my ribs ever sore last night. I went to sleep with the heating pad, which I think helped...but it still hurts to cough or sneeze. Not great when you have asthma and allergies.

And the bleeding on my thumb...I was trying to decide if I should try to pop it or what, but it's draining now, so I won't. (Draining where, I wonder? Something to look up!)

Exciting BRUISE UPDATES to follow! I hope it's pretty big and detailed, you guys. That would be awesome.

(Also, an exclamation point randomly appeared in the subject heading as I was typing. I have no idea why, but I figured I'd leave it.)

I just took a quick scan of my friendslist before I have to run off to work (I promise to get back to comments and such tonight!), and found this image via [livejournal.com profile] blackfolk:

HOLY CRAP, YOU GUYS.

It appears that lj is busy suspending both communities and individual user accounts (although maybe just RPG journals thus far) which have "incest," and possibly any "pedophilia"-related interests listed. (I'm not sure about the last part.)

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] darkrosetiger:

Here's a link on some of what's going on.

I'm honestly not clear here myself what IS going on. (Other than a sudden witchhunt!) But as a preventive measure, I'd personally STRONGLY recommend that everyone remove "incest" from their interests list, if you have it listed FOR ANY REASON.

Also, remove anything like:

-"chan"
-"shota"
-"lolicon"

(And possibly "lolita" - apparently a BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP has been suspended.)

And just in case, I'd also throw in:

-"ageplay" (at least one ageplay community has also been suspended)
-"pedophilia" (even if your interest is academic!)
-Anything else you can think of which might be targeted by nuts on a warpath.

Because yeah, some site called "Warriors for Innocence," is rumoured to be behind this somehow. (I'm not linking because it seems their server tracks where people are linked from, allowing them to track links back to their source, and they've shown up in other people's journals when mentioned.)

Now, "WFI" is claiming innocence (here), but I think it's an awfully big coincidence if they are.

According to their own site, they consider lj interests, "child sex, pedo love, child molestation, child porn, boys in panties, daddy [sic] little girl," to be, "advocating adult-child sex and rape." [Emphasis mine.]

More links:

-A partial listing of suspended comms and journals.

(Note that lj has apparently also suspended journals listing "bestiality"-related interests. I may be especially paranoid here...but the FURRIES on my list might want to remove some interests as well.)

-The discussion on the [livejournal.com profile] fandom_lawyers community.

I just don't fucking BELIEVE this. WTF.

ZOMG,

...LULZ CANADA.

The phone my mother got me when I was 18 - for emergency calls, mainly, after I had my first lung collapse - is now so apparently out of date that our network service provider will not support it anymore. Or, as Canadian comic Ron James puts it, "The guy at Best Buy is looking at my four-year-old phone like I dug it up from the saaaands of Egypt!"

So they sent me a new, replacement phone. Supposedly the most basic flip-phone on the market.

Basic, my ass. From the instruction manual:

Access codes

Security code

The security code (5 to 10 digits) helps to protect your phone against unauthorized use. The preset code is 12345. To change the code and set the phone to request the code, see "Security," p. 39.

PIN codes

The personal identification number (PIN) code and the universal personal identification number (UPIN) code (4 to 8 digits) helps to protect your SIM card against unauthorized use. See "Security," p. 39.

The PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits) may be supplied with the SIM card and is required for some functions.

The module PIN is required to access the information in the security module. See "Security module," p. 51.

The signing PIN is required for the digital signature. See "Digital signature," p. 52.

PUK codes

The personal unblocking key (PUK) code and the universal personal unblocking key (UPUK) code (8 digits) are required to change a blocked PIN code and UPIN code, respectively. The PUK2 code (8 digits) is required to change a blocked PIN2 code. If the codes are not supplied with the SIM card, contact your local service provider for the codes.

Restriction password

The restriction password (4 digits) is required when using the
Call restrictions.  See "Security," p. 39.

...

WHAT??!?
beandelphiki: Animated icon of the TARDIS from the British television show, "Doctor Who." (jesus...)
I just realized...

Just now...

Locking at the clock, which reads: 12:32 am, WEDNESDAY...

I FORGOT TO WATCH HOUSE!

Jesus god, how did I DO that? I've had all the relevant info: channel, day of the week, time and air dates for upcoming House episodes on my greyboard for weeks. Prior to that, I kept all that on electronic post-it notes on my laptop. I've written this shit on my hand to keep from forgetting it. And I've managed not to miss an episode since late in the second season.

But I missed this one. I didn't even tape it, man. I guess I'll ask Dana at work tomorrow if she taped it, but I don't think she does.

Hell, I even took Dexedrine at 7:15, and didn't remember!

HOW DID I DO THAT?

HOW?!
