So many things are annoying me today...particularly women. I really should get myself a rant journal so I can spew out all the warped fantasies I have about women there, and not risk making anyone hate my guts. Because, you know, I would hate my guts if I read that in anyone else's journal.

But I will keep it toned down here. We hope. I should also note I have some new people on board (Hello!), and I wonder what kind of an introduction this is...hmm, oh well.

In English we had another session of the ongoing "Orgasmic Grammar Lecture."

(So called because we have this really horny middle-aged woman in our class who calls everything, "orgasmic," - and someone called the Grammar Lecture that jokingly and it stuck. (She is scary as fuck. Over, out.))

Last class we had a total blast because Richard, our prof, spent almost the entire class telling us the story of the Trojan War, as passed on as myth, and he's a hilarious storyteller. For example, he told us how Paris had to choose between the gifts the goddesses were willing to barter with, and the choices were, "extreme wealth," "eternal wisdom," and...getting laid.

Today wasn't QUITE as fun, because we actually got into the grammar part. Richard wrote, "The wrath of Achilles is my theme," on the board, and told us that we were going to go through the same process the ancient Greeks did, and identify the parts of the sentence and their function, for ourselves.

So "Achilles" ended up being our "restricted namer word." ("Theme" became our "multi-purpose stuff word." *!!!!*)

I saw that this was a lot more interesting than going through, rote, "noun...verb...adverb..." but there was still a bit of my older mindset trying to creep in - "Oh, please. Give me a break. A two-year-old could do this..." I'm trying not to think like that, because I really think Richard's got it going on most of the time, and because if I get like that I know I will shut off like a blown fuse and block it out in frustration.

But it got really hard when Renee opened her mouth.

Actually, it's really hard not to blow a gasket ANY time Renee opens her mouth. She's one of those, "Well, I'm SORRY, but I think..." sort of people, and it makes me want to strangle her. Sure, everyone's got strong opinions sometimes, but Renee has an opinion about eeeeeeverythiiiiiiing. And you aaaaallll should hear it. She's, for lack of a better word, strident.

And she was CONVINCED that "wrath" should be our "emotion word." Aarrgh. "Look up! Look up! Ohhh, no, the point went over your head!"

Worse, Elana agreed with her, and the two of them kept trying to convince Richard that "emotion word" worked. While he (as gently as possible, because that's him) was trying to lead them away from the MEANING of the word to its FUNCTION.

And they were just not "getting" it. At all. I had to cover my ears and put my head down, or I was seriously going to lose it. I don't like that feeling, the feeling that I'm dangerously near doing something I'll regret. Trying to help the people that ride the short bus is not something I should be railing at. Breathe, Dan. Just breathe.

But...aaargh. There are times when the teacher, however much he might say, "there is no wrong answer!" is trying to lead you somewhere. To an answer. The right one, sorry the best answer possible to fit the criteria.

The two of them didn't even get the hint when I said of "emotion word"..."Boy, we're going to have a lot of categories for words, then."

I mean, PEOPLE - stop missing your cues!

Okay.

1) Women and men aren't equal. And they can't be.

2) I said girls OFTEN piss me off. Not always.

And, hey, I'll throw this out here, too:

3) While there are SOME girls I can get along with, generally, girls drive me nuts. That's my honest experience, and I'm not expecting everyone to agree with me.

I'm like Socrates. In that particular way.

Many speculate that Socrates was gay. I've heard that there are writings that prove it.

How do you expect to be with a girl if you can't even STAND them?

Just wondering.

People these days...they want everyone to be gay. :P

...I'm still working on it.

I don't know why this didn't post before, stupid hotmail.

*clears throat*

I can agree with you on most points, aside from the "being equal" one. Yes, men and women ARE different and will never be the same, but they should be treated with the same amount of respect and consideration. Simply put: one isn't superior to the other.

I explain the not equal thing in my next post. But I don't have time right at this moment.
