Does anyone yet know someone who has upgraded from a Free account to a Sponsored+ account? (Just linking the post in case anyone hasn't checked their email or the home page yet.)
I'm really curious to know JUST how annoying these ads are going to be (on the journals of the people who upgrade to that account level).
According to the guidelines, ANIMATED ads will be allowed, although animation must be short, and they are required to be slow-looping. Even at that...I don't know about you, but I really, really, HATE animated ads. Dammit.
Also, looking at the Ad Settings page, there doesn't seem to be a way to opt-out of animated ads only, if you DID upgrade to that level. (Not that I'm really planning to.)

I appreciate the restrained way lj is approaching the ad thing, but I really don't want animated ads on lj. *rubs eyes*
Edit: Mmm. I finally found someone (by total fluke, I wasn't even looking for this!) who now has ads on their journal. I'm not gonna say who, because the snark potential is SO high, and I should resist.
Is it ever ugly. No animated ads on their journal, but let's just say it really doesn't match the décor. PASS.
