Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] walkinthenight:

Voting fraud in Texas

Here's an important heads up ...

Yesterday a friend voted early at a polling location in Austin. She voted straight Democratic. When she did the final check, lo and behold every vote was for the Democratic candidates except that it showed she had voted for Bush/Cheney for president/vice president.

She immediately got a poll official. On her vote, it was corrected. She called the Travis County Democratic headquarters. They took all her information, and told her that she wasn't the first to report a similar incident and that they are looking into it.

So check before you leave the polling booth, and if anything is wrong, get it corrected immediately. Report any irregularities to your local Democratic headquarters. Make sure you pass this along to your friends ... hopefully this is all over the airwaves by tomorrow ...

The Texas voting fraud is for real. The Austin office (Dem. Nat. Comm.) at 512 637 1737
said that it has been happening a lot. They don't know why but the machines seem more "sensitive" this year and that every voter MUST check their summary as the presidential choice often rolls over to the Republican choice if you vote straight Democrat.

Here is their website: http://www.democrats.org/
Their main number in DC is 202 863 8000.

I am so disgusted with the american election. Every time I hear about how republicans are causing voter fraud, or which I've been hearing a lot of lately, I want to go down there and tear of Bush's head myself. It's so hard to believe that the republicans are getting away with this crap. Well, we'll know soon enough if they're getting away with it, that is.

Another good number to note is 866-OUR-VOTE. If anyone is given hassle at the polls, they should call this number.

I like that our Canadian friends are looking out for us. :-)

I'm just really worried about rigged machines, liberal voters getting turned away, etc. The things I've been hearing scare me!

Have you ever seen "Talking to Americans?" At one point on this show, Rick Mercer convinced this group of Americans that Canadians vote by putting different pieces of tree bark in big boxes. The type of tree bark denotes different candidates.

I'm starting to think that might be a more reliable system.
