Jan. 26th, 2003 06:40 pmWow. I didn't get to sleep last night until 7 am. (Okay, so that's not night, heh.) I was just so completely wired.
Actually, I went to bed at the same time as my mom got up. We passed each other in the hall. It was a little odd. I decided to stick to a weekend bedtime of 5 or 6 at the latest (earliest?) from now on, just to avoid that weirdness.
I'm not tired, though, because I slept five hours yesterday afternoon when I got home from call, and then from 7 to 11 this morning. Ten hours total makes me a happy boy.
Today was a day we were supposed to spend with Dad, but I claimed illness and opted out. He doesn't seem pleased about that, and told me he'll see me next weekend. From his tone of voice, it was a threat. *sigh*
But honestly, I really didn't want to go. This is my first day off in weeks - I wanted to sit around and veg. Oh, and think. Think a lot. *muse*
Don't get me wrong, I like to see my dad...it's just that he always expects us to come up with something fascinating to say. He wants us to desperately want to talk to him. I guess he's using conversation as a yardstick of how much we love him. It gets tiring. And he usually ends up lecturing us.
Bleh. My HS friend Nicole was going to phone me if they were going to watch The Importance of Being Earnest. Maybe it's early.
If I had known I was going to have to send a reply email to aol, I would have used an email that works. I guess I'll have to wait two days and try again with a different email.
I should remember my primary one is having trouble sending.

Old songs are the bestest
Jan. 26th, 2003 07:12 pmI was watching a Shirley Temple movie today. Poor Little Rich Girl. I love Shirley Temple movies. If you can get beyond, say, the racism. Old movies are somewhat horrifying that way. It's hard, sometimes, to remind yourself not to take a movie to task too hard for being made in the 40s/50s. It's not the movie's fault. *pets*
And old movies - especially musicals - have such charm.
Anyway. I love this movie. And I love this song from it the most:
