A few mornings ago, we got up and discovered that we couldn't turn the computer on.

Yesterday, Mom called the Geek Patrol, and they said, "If you can't even get it to come on, we can't help you. Take it in."

So now we have to haul the sucker somewhere, but as our OS is either illegal or we've lost the paperwork, it may not be a guarantee that anyone will even look at it.

I'm hoping we don't need a whole new computer, considering how much stuff I had saved on our computer that I didn't back up (we've nagged our mother for months to buy things like disks...bet she's sorry now she kept putting it off) and off course, with both me and my mother going back to school in the fall, the financial situation is worrisome.

*sighs* I really hate not having UNFILTERED comp access at home.

If the harddisk of the computer is still ok you could put it into an other computer and access your files again. (If it has a similiar Operating System. Only problem might be if the OS on your current harddisk tries to boot up on a totally different computer.... that must be like awakening in a different body.)

If your computer does absolutely nothing, not even a lil *beep*, then the problem could be the power unit. That one broke on my computer too a while ago...

(enough geek-techno-babble for a day)

Thank you. Yeah, I've heard it suggested that the power unit is the problem. I hope that's all it is.

And no, it doesn't even beep.
