I had a little dream last night, where me and a bunch of other people I didn't recognize upon waking were going to an old abandoned building (a warehouse? a farmhouse?) to perform some ritual sort of surgery.

I was cutting off a finger. A girl was adding a finger. Someone else was also cutting off a finger - it was all about our fingers. One girl managed to sew an extra finger to one hand, so she had 7 fingers on that hand (she'd had six originally.) I didn't know if I could go through with cutting my finger off. Too painful. (I also had some weird round disks stuck to my feet? ...Like poker chips.)

Also, we were sacrificing some huge beasts to do this, including a T-rex, which woke up when we poured blood all over its face, and started to lumber around in the other room where we were keeping it. It was chasing the girl who poured blood on it's face, and she was trying to fend it off with a hammer. We were terrified, of course, figuring it would come after us. Then I woke up.

This dream has been driving me nuts, because something keeps screaming at me that it was IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! - especially the fingers. What about the fingers, something about the fingers. Except I don't have a clue what the finger thing meant.

So I was desperate enough to consult a dream dictionary, although these things always struck me as silly:

Non-relevant parts of interpretations left out:

Alternatively, it represents mobility, independence and freedom. Perhaps you have taken a step in the right direction and are contemplating your goals or your next step. The sole of the foot may be a pun of being or feeling like the only support of some person/situation.

Poker

To dream that you are playing poker, suggests that a situation in your waking life requires strategy and careful planning. You need to think things out before carrying out your actions.

Stranger

To see a stranger in your dream, symbolizes the part of yourself that is repressed and hidden.

Wow. Lots of arrows pointing the same direction.

I also spent some time looking through interpretations of things I remember showing up frequently in my dreams. Evidently, the vast majority of my dreams are gloomy, pessimistic and hinting of repressed fears, anxieties and hurts. I also charge through life and wreck relationships willy-nilly.

They didn't seem like bad dreams to me, but according to this, I never have happy ones.

Earlier this year, I dreamed I strangled a stranger to death. Heh. Wonder what part of my repressed self I killed off?
