In our society, humans have accepted the idea that murder, or any other action we could take against each other that causes physical pain or anguish is "wrong."

I posit that this is because we are such social animals, and have such a capacity for complex emotion. We have decided that murder and inflicting pain on each other has ill effects on our societies, and so adversely affects the lives of individual human beings and the development of the human race as a whole.

There is not really any such thing as "right" or "wrong," though. Morals are undeniably a human invention for the purpose of protecting our species.

Therefore, NO being, no animal or human, has an inherent right to life, or to be unharmed.

But isn't the question of whether or not the infliction of pain and/or murder has an adverse effect on our society a factual one?

So... wouldn't that make the "morality judgement" practically based on facts itself?

Like... if our society would die if we just murdered every child of a certain gender... our society would eventually cease to exist. Therefore, murders of that sort are "wrong."

Or... if we don't try to stop people from randomly murdering people in our society, then we could eventually degenerate into a pathetic race of cave hiding, gun wielding recluses, or... something...

or not.

I really need to get some sleep.
