In our society, humans have accepted the idea that murder, or any other action we could take against each other that causes physical pain or anguish is "wrong."
I posit that this is because we are such social animals, and have such a capacity for complex emotion. We have decided that murder and inflicting pain on each other has ill effects on our societies, and so adversely affects the lives of individual human beings and the development of the human race as a whole.
There is not really any such thing as "right" or "wrong," though. Morals are undeniably a human invention for the purpose of protecting our species.
Therefore, NO being, no animal or human, has an inherent right to life, or to be unharmed.
