Summer stock!
Aug. 30th, 2003 01:22 amMy sister and my mother went to the open house at my sister's new school today. (She's quit home schooling and is going to a charter school.)
She and my mom met her new drama teacher, and apparently, they do summer stock at her school! (Last year they did Guys and Dolls, which is my favorite show. Whee!) He was trying to tell my mom about how theatre works, or something like that, and she finally gently interrupted him to explain that I'm taking technical theatre at Mount Royal, although I'm going to Chinook College to do some academic upgrading this year. So she knows a bit about it.
He got very excited. Because you see, my sister's charter school and Chinook College are in the same building. So he told my mother that I could come and help out with their summer stock productions, and get extra high school credit. She explained that, no, I have some high school tech theatre credits.
No, he says. Credit in Gifted Education tech theatre.
Schedule permitting, I think it sounds awesome, and I'm psyched for it.
