...filtering people to not read them. I've only ever filtered people to make filtered posts before.

I have just filtered:

-every Harry Potter community I belong to
-anyone I have noticed talking about the book

This is so I don't see spoilers until I read it. *nods* For a lot of things, I don't mind spoilers, but not this time. Oh, and I think I might know who dies, so I sure as hell don't want to have that confirmed. I'm just going to treat that as a rumor for now.

Oh, and I've also filtered every comm and user I have on my friends list that is making posts - or having posts made to it - about the gay marriage thing.

I don't know when those people/comms are going to be unfiltered. Hopefully, this will all die down.

So basically, if you have a big emergency and I don't leave a kind word, it's probably because I'm not reading you right now.

But I still love you all. :)

i'm glad i don't have the book either anyway i would never write about it on here...and gay marriage who cares..(sad huh) i can get married right now sooo..i hope this means i'm not filtered...but i filter to read, but i filter friends, then communities, then close friends...

Sorry that my posts about the gay marriage thing are distressing you. I don't understand why, but I accept that you aren't handling it well, so I'll leave it be.

Sorry, Griff. I went back and forth on this one...I don't want you to think that I'm trying to tell you what to post and what not to. It's your journal, and I know you're very happy about this. But I didn't want you or anybody else to be saying, "Gee, where's Dan? He's posting, but I'm not getting comments. Wow, what a jerk." :P

As for why it's upsetting me... Suppose you were in a room full of people who had just been told they were going to be treated to a big party. And they're all jumping around and happy. And then someone comes and whispers in your ear that the party got canceled. And so you're in this room full of happy people, and you're the only one who knows they have nothing to be happy about anymore.

It's like that. I can't get over the feeling that something's going to go very wrong, and my mother is of the same opinion. In my province, for example, as far as I know, gay marriage is still not legal because our Premier invoked the not-withstanding clause. (We still haven't got the paper though, so I'm not sure what's up.)

Heh. I just mentioned that I got it last night, I know better than to spoil it for other people. :)

I get pretty upset when people spoil things for me, so I try not to spoil things for others. :)
