Right, so I get my essay back, and my prof has commented that I use semi-colons too often, and incorrectly.

Improper usage of semi-colons used more than twice on a mid-term exam will automatically get you a D+ grade by the English standards set in our school.

I just had a mid-term. And got my essay back afterward. Our prof commented that she doesn't "believe" in giving back essays before exams.

Thanks a whole fucking lot for nothing, eh? Can anyone tell me what the HOLY FUCK is the point of "education" anyway? I might as well lock myself in a little cabin in the wilderness with a bunch of little dusty books. It might do me more good.

I swear, if I get a D+ on that exam for fucking incorrect semi-colon usage, I am going to SCREAM. I think I'll email her about this.

Okay, this doesn't make much sense. I answered ABSOLUTELY NOT to any question that implied any sort of supernatural or god-like force whatsoever, so how did I get Theravada Buddhism and whatever else before "non-theism?" Shouldn't "Non-Theist" be right below "Secular Humanism?" I'm confused.

And Scientology is NOT A RELIGION. It's an abusive cult people, get that straight.

Good luck with the midterm. Your prof is an ass.... is this the same one who wanted to know all about your email addy? I thought that was a little creepy, her wanting personal info like that.

Hmmm. I dunno, is it creepy? I thought it was sort of intrusive, but then, she wanted to test all our emails to make sure she could send stuff to us, and she did have to say SOMETHING.

That's awful about your essay. You're right that people should be encouraged to learn from stuff, not just "graded." That's not fair to the spirit of education.

hmm... studying up on these religions:

Sec Humanism sounds fairly like you.. I assume you looked that one up.

Unitarian is like a "social club" for anyone and everyone, and accepts all beliefs universally. Seems like a silly designation for a religion, since it has no real tenets... but.. there you go. A catch all.

Theravada seems like it barely qualifies as a religion either! It's very non-theistic. They don't believe in ANY god. That's probably why you got them. Theravada Buddhism The concept of a supreme Creator God is rejected or at least considered irrelevant to Theravada Buddhism. As there is no belief in or relevant God, there are no incarnations of God worshipped.

Oh, and Liberal Quakers, is like Unitarian Universalism. It sounds like a bunch of people who grew up Quaker, but who have so many disparate beliefs that they didn't belong in that church any more, so they just meet and hang out together. They encompass almost all beliefs.

So... eh. I'd take the "selector" with a grain of salt.

Oh...okay. I didn't realize there was a type of Buddhism that...really...isn't Buddhism. *shrug* At least, it doesn't sound like what I take Buddhism to mean. Buddhism where anything isn't incarnated doesn't sound like Buddhism. :P


So...yeah. I wasn't taking it too seriously, but it does bug me when quizzes about religion try to make me out to be more religious than I really am, no matter how hard I try to get them to tell me I'm an atheist and nothing but. Heh.

However, this "accepting all beliefs universally" thing sounds completely opposite to what an atheist is, so I don't get that either. *confuzzled*

yeah, that is odd.

I think the quizzes are set up wrong, at least in that respect. If you score points in certain areas, but not a lot of points in any one area, then it just throws you into the "social club" sects.

I did notice that even though there was a, "I don't believe in god" answer to a lot of the questions, it was always attached to a "or, I do, but.. blah blah blah" choice. That just seems wrong.
