find YOUR drag persona

and go to mewing.net. where all the men wear skirts.

Tricked you! In DRAG...yeah, I can see being the Material Girl. Sure.

The other day, [livejournal.com profile] abalorn and I passed a poster advertising "Gender Bender" night at our campus bar, the Liberty. I saw that earlier and thought it was too cool. So...I pointed it out, but didn't say anything. Mostly fearful of his reaction.

"Sweet, man!" was what he said, so I'm pretty happy about that. Pat and I seem to be on the same page about things like that a LOT...

I told him that I would so be there in fishnets if it weren't for the fact that I'd look like a real girl in drag. He kind of snorted, and I asked what was funny. He said, "It's funny because it's probably true." (Probably?...*checks mirror* Hmm.)

Anyway. I think it's unfair that I'm a boy in college, and I can't be wild and sleep around and show up to bars in awful drag. *pout*

Oh...my...god....sudden image of Pat's super hairy legs in fishnets. *dies*

*Ponders on how to comment on this*

...

.....

I think the funny thing about this is that Pat would probably jump at the chance and have a great time dressing up in drag and helping you to dress up in drag so you would look like a guy that is in drag AND going to the bar and having way to much fun dressed in drag.

...

.....

I'm really not sure if I would think that is scary, or if I would think that it's sweet because he's helping a friend to have some fun.

...

.....

If he does do this PLEASE don't let him wear fishnets. *shudders*

;)

I'm not sure anyone could keep Pat from the fishnets if he REALLY wanted to wear them. ;)

*I* think it would be cool. Straight boys in drag is an all-out BLAST. Heh.

LoL, I probably could... If i cut them up into little pieces and threw them in several snow banks. I don't even think promising him sexual favors in turn for not wearing them would work.

Do many guys that aren't gay turn up to those? Frankly.. any guy who dresses up as a girl for whatever reason would seem a little questionable to me. Unless it was a lost bet or a dare or something. It just doesn't seem right.

??? What doesn't seem right about it? I always thought it was super cool. "Questionable" is right, but questionable how? If you mean to imply any guy willing wearing a dress is gay, you'd be wrong. Just ask any expert on human sexuality.

Lots more straight guys, I'm sure, would be willing to turn up to some place wearing a dress at least once if people wouldn't think they were gay.

If women are going to be looking at taking away "male privilege" for themselves, and passing all the privilege around equally, then why shouldn't guys get cracks at female privilege? If women can have power, why shouldn't guys get more freedom of expression?

I dunno, I just think anybody "questioning" gender by wearing drag, or being andro or whatever, is cool because it challenges people's ideas of what "male" and "female" should be. And that's a good thing.

I didn't mean to say any guy that would be willing to wear a dress is gay. I know many straight guys who've worn dresses just to get reactions out of people. Reactions are what some people live for.

I just live in a very sheltered world, one that includes women (in general) being more comfortable with their sexuality and males being very homophobic. Untill, that is, I met pat and my best guy friend "came out of the closet" (no connection there). Things like that take a little getting used to.
