Political Leanings

A few days ago, while whoring around lj, I found this idiotic site.
The Political Compass, whoo-hoo!
So, being me and curious, I took the test offered on the site to see how it would place me on the "compass." I guess I should have checked out what this compass thing was first.
The compass has two scales in a cross - the "left-right" scale, and the "Authoritarian-Libertarian" scale.
(At this point, I would post a picture of my result, but for some reason, it didn't save properly. Pooh.)
So my result was: -4.46 on the A-L scale (closer to Libertarian) and almost exactly center on the r-l scale (0.25).
The site has "reading lists" for all four of the different sections, but nothing for the center of either scale. So I went on the assumption that I am a rightest Libertarian.
As opposed to, you know, a LEFTIST Libertarian.
And here I thought that the concepts of "leftist" and "Libertarian" were mutually exclusive! Silly me! Well, I've been enlightened, haven't I?
*snerk*
Anyway, so on my reading list for "rightest Libertarian" is...
...Ayn Rand.
*snarl*
I am a moderate Libertarian, damnit. Don't fuck with me.

"It's an anarcho-syndicalist commune!"
Date: 2002-11-17 02:05 am (UTC)I won't try to post the pic, but I was in the lower left.
The same amount left as Ghandi, but a little lower. i.e. more anarchistic.
cool, I guess. not surprised, though.
"Help! I'm being repressed!" :)
Re: "It's an anarcho-syndicalist commune!"
Date: 2002-11-17 09:47 pm (UTC)It just sounded really silly to me. Not that I think the concept of personal freedoms is necessarily removed from social responsibility and some economic control.
Monty Python rules beyond anything ever created.
