Very interesting - "The Feminization of American Culture"
I don't agree with large chunks, but I found it an interesting read, especially when it got into the feminized fish...
Oh, update on my physical situation...it seems my back and neck feel better. I can turn my head farther than I could this morning.
But I seem to have some sort of infection that is making little white things grow at the back of my throat. Right in the first week of school, too.
The fun just don't never stop.

Date: 2002-09-06 08:06 pm (UTC)I agree men will still be graduating. However. Education these days really quite disadvantages boys. Recent studies have shown that the focus on girls in schools over the past several years now means BOYS are being neglected.
Further, the reason for making schools more girl-oriented in the first place was more political than people think. Studies a while ago indicated girls were being passed over in favour of boys in the classroom, but that trend was already starting to turn around when the feminists got to those studies and used them as leverage to change how classrooms were being operated to favour girls. It looked good to the public, is what it amounts to. But it made the growing problem for boys worse than it would have been otherwise.
More women now graduate from high school and post-secondary than men.
I've seen articles on this in several parenting, "family" and psychological magazines, now.
