I'd like to also note that I think I have been spoiled by Barbara Streisand.

I realize that I am so used to her version of "Some Enchanted Evening" that I feel like Bernadette Peters just slaughters it. Of course, I think I'm just not very fond of Peters' plummy voice.

Does this mean I have no taste? What is the consensus on Peters, anyway? I'm quite concerned.

Exception to the rule: I love her doing "The Gentleman is a Dope."

Please note that I am NOT being a fag.

bernadette peters is a goddess. OK, kind of. as i have not heard said version of "some enchanted evening", i can't speak of that, but i can say that, in general, bernadette peters is amazing. if nothing else, just because of her stage presence, because she has *it*. if you ever see her in concert or on video, she is SO charismatic it is ridiculous. she also has a great voice, which you must admit, even if you don't appreciate its unique tone quality; as well as acting talent and beauty. she is my hero.
that's *my* opinion on bernadette peters :-)

I agree she has a good voice, although it irritates me. And I agree she is STILL beautiful (amazing), but I can't speak for her stage presence or acting talent, I've only heard albums, not seen her in anything.

Anyway, "Some Enchanted Evening," at least the version I was listening to, somehow sounded...out of time. It really bugged me.
