I rolled over onto my geeky specs glasses waking up this morning, and snapped them clean through in two places.

Holy shit.

So I'm back wearing my old glasses. Guess I'll have to see the optometrist about getting the frames on the old ones replaced. (The lenses, at least, are both okay.)

More than the cost of the replacement frames ($1500, urk - why no, I didn't have to pay tuition this year, why do you ask?), I'm worried that I won't be able to get the same frames again. Because I really did adore those frames. But they're designer frames, and I got them last year, so they'll be out of season or whatever...

Oh damn! :(((((((((((((
that totally sucks.

um... maybe some $8 glasses from whatever that website was could fill in until the next time you're eligible for new frames? It's usually every 2 years down here.

:(

Eligible? *puzzled* What do you mean, eligible?

Boy, if there was some time limit on how often I could replace my frames, I'd be utterly screwed! I once had to replace them three times in as many months because I kept sitting on them. (Junior high...)

oh... I forgot they do things a little different there. Down here, we can get glasses for free about once every other year, but they have to be cheap frames. We can pay a little more for upgraded frames, but it's a lot cheaper to wait the 2 years out than buy them outright.

Your frames might still be on warranty. I walked into a plate glass window about a year after I got my last pair. The frames snapped in a completely unrepairable location (top corner). Luckily, they were still under warranty, so they got replaced for free.

Of course, then I connected heads with a kid I was babysitting a couple of years later, broke the frames in a similar spot. That's when I switched to contacts.
