WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE BLOGGER?!?
Mar. 12th, 2008 04:55 pmJust logged in.
Jesus, is lj EVER going to stop with it's re-designing obsession?
And are lj design staff EVER going to actually consider people's real screen resolutions? Mine is a perfectly standard 1024x768 pixels, and the new intro page is WAY TOO WIDE. I prefer to have my favourites open and pinned along the side of my screen, and even if I adjust the window width to make my favourites as small as possible, I still can't fit all of the introduction page on my screen.
The moment I can't navigate lj without scrolling sideways, there will be HELL to pay.
WTF, lj.
JUST STOP.

Date: 2008-03-12 11:25 pm (UTC)I just logged in with IE, and the welcome page resizes according to my browser size. I do have a widescreen (1280x800), but even if I widen the favorites windows, I still don't have to scroll.
Maybe it's the LJ skin you're using?

Everything's got this border now that I SWEAR wasn't there yesterday. (Or maybe they just changed the background color?) And the icons look slightly different. (Larger, maybe?) It's hard to pinpoint all the differences exactly, since I don't have a screencap of the way it looked yesterday. (Obviously, why would I?)
But I can't get over the very obvious copycat of the Blogger intro page. Although Blogger's is cleaner.
And now it suddenly doesn't fit on my screen. Not that it matters much, since as soon as I log in, it's no longer an issue...but I just went, "WHA?"

Date: 2008-03-13 01:07 am (UTC)I never navigate to that page because I'm constantly logged in. I've no idea what it used to look like. But you're right, as soon as the screen gets a little narrower, the layout is fucked up. That's sloppy web-designing.
Maybe Blogger and LJ are run by the same company? The email provider where I have one of my addresses was recently taken over by the company that runs the other site where I have my other address, and by now, both sites more or less look the same.
