I did it again! (Caused a long thread of drama by leaving one comment, that is.) I'm seriously amazed. Can't I say ANYTHING without provoking shit? Okay, the particular comment I left was rather provocative, but I'm seriously starting to wonder about my online social skills. I know it's a big community, but really...

A Public Service Announcement:

I have long since let any "rules" about who I friend, who I don't, who I remove, who I don't, etc. lapse. It got to the point ages ago where I no longer care about eljay friendslist enough to have "rules." I mean, some of you I'm close to, some of you I really like and appreciate, some of you I don't know so well but you seem awesome.


However, if I see someone posting, "N****RS!!" in their journal....? ESPECIALLY if it's following a whiny statement about how the world hates white people, help help you're being repressed?


Well, it's your journal. Minus me as a friend. 'Kay?

The ONLY way I'll accept seeing "n****r" on my friends page is if it's said

a) by someone black
b) in discussion of, say, this book. That's just an example, but people on my f-list are smart enough to know when that applies and when it doesn't, eh?

I mean, I really shouldn't even have to be posting this.

I can't believe I just did. Or that I HAD TO REMOVE SOMEONE last night for doing that very thing.

Ugh.

Arrrgh.

He has a great point here:

"You're going to relegate my history to a month?" the 68-year-old actor says in an interview on CBS' "60 Minutes" to air Sunday (7 p.m. EST). "I don't want a black history month. Black history is American history."

[YES!]

And then he loses it here:

Freeman notes there is no "white history month," and says the only way to get rid of racism is to "stop talking about it."

EVERY other month is "white history month." You don't get rid of racism by not talking about it.

AAAAH, and fans will take his word for it because he's famous. Jesus.

So conflicted: look for contact info or not? I mean, if people take his word for it just because he's black, that's not his issue, that's other people's stupid.
