Conversation with the better half of this friendship

So last night, lytheris called me. We talked for hours, like we usually do. Even though neither of us have the Dx (yet, in my case...I hope), I swear that if I'M not ADD, she is. If other people could hear our conversations, they would think we're completely bonkers, really.


lytheris: Can I call you Goldie?

Me: Why? *thinking of Goldie Hawn, for some reason*

lytheris: Or Fishy? Can I call you Fishy?

Me: Why?

lytheris: Because you're like a goldfish. They only have a memory of six seconds, you know.

Me: *laughing*

lytheris: *hums*...Hey, look, there's a castle!...*hums**swishing noise*...Hey, look, there's a castle!.....Oh, wow! Look! A castle!

Me: *diiiies*

lytheris: *hums*...Hey! Look at that! There's a castle over there!...*hums* WOW! A castle, I haven't seen THAT before...*hums* Hey wo-o-o-w, I don't know what that's called, but it's really COOL!

Me: *iz ded*

lytheris: And THAT'S why you can keep them in a little glass bowl.

Me: *rises wheezing* God...that reminds me of something my mom calls me. Let me see if I can remember...

lytheris: *mad laughter*

[A minute or two in which we just laugh.]

lytheris: Now that was classic.

Me: Okay...Dory! She calls me "Dory."

lytheris: Oh, yeah! That's why-

Me: -I have an icon of Dory, yeah. She calls me "Dory." That or, "my absent-minded professor."

lytheris: That's when you know it's bad, when other people watch a movie, and say, "Hey, that's you!" - I mean, I'm not as bad as you, but I-

Me: WHAT?! Shut up! You're worse than me!

lytheris: Oh, god.


[...]

(Something about other people thinking we're nuts if they hear us talking.)

Me: I'm totally going to post some of this to lj later. Well, what I can remember.

lytheris: Just leave a blank space.

Me: Yeah. "I don't know what we said..."

lytheris: "I had this conversation with someone today! I don't know who she was-"

Me: "-But it was hilarious! You should've been there, y'all!"

[...]

Me: So back to the original topic...like we ever HAVE an original topic.



If lytheris contradicts any of this, it's because neither of us can remember properly what we said.

You know, I'm exaggerating. But just a LITTLE bit.

Sometimes we'll go off and... You watch The Simpsons? Have you ever seen where Homer sees his doppelganger (sp)?

Homer: OMG! That man is my exact double. *gets distracted* Hey! Look at that dog with the puffy tail! Here, Puff!

D and I will say that all the time, when we get off-track. "Hey, look at that dog with the puffy tail!"

That last part:

Diego: What were we talking about?

Michelle: I have no idea...

*crickets*

...is how we end half of our conversations, though.

Heh, when we notice it, we say, "Signal that turn-change!"

And yeah...our conversations mostly end like that, too. And then we laugh about how crazy we are. :P
