so is it ok for queer people to be pissed off at straight people for slighting them, but it's not ok for straight people to be pissed off at queer people?

Well if someone queer did something stupid to someone straight, I don't see why the straight person shouldn't be pissed off, but I don't see the connection. *blink*

Really, when I say, "get pissed," I'm saying...get pissed because 11 states in the U.S. banned gay marriage, and some banned civil unions (which also hurts straight people in civil unions). I'm saying get pissed because Bush is in office again and he's going to attempt to impose his religious beliefs on everyone, including the belief that god apparently hates gays. (Not to trivialize how horrible he's going to be in so many other ways. *sigh*)

That's really U.S.-centric, of course. But lots of people on my friends list are American, and I think they have a right and a need to be pissed, yes, I do. And I'm concerned about what's going on down there - not just for queer people, but people in general.

So. *shrug* I posted the link to a new community where people can go to rant, get worked up, and possibly organize. (It's happened on lj before...)

There's also feminist_rage and about a million other communities where people can go to bitch and possibly get ideas for things like letter-writing campaigns, but I didn't think to mention them, as I imagine people can find them on their own. But this is a brand-new community, so I wanted to help give it a boost.
