Okay, some of you reading my journal may have already seen this in Lester's journal, or know about it already, but our school's drama/tech teacher, Ms. Eberle, has decided to resign over Bill 12.

I was so shocked to hear the news. I suppose I had counted Ms. E as the kind of teacher who would never leave her students. I guess I really don't know her at all. Now that I think about it though, it makes a lot of sense that she would rather hold to her principles, and it makes sense that she would leave to go travel.

In a way, this doesn't really affect me much, because I am leaving this year as well; and yet, I cannot envision Q.E. without Ms. E. It will be a very different place without her there. It saddens me greatly that Bill 12 may be causing things like this. It infuriates me how much power the government has over the lives of the people in a supposedly democratic society. What happened to accountability to the people? I worry what will happen for Lester and Roach and Owen and all the other younger techs next year.

On the other hand, she does want us all to exchange emails. I'm so happy she wants to keep that kind of personal contact with us. And I hope Lester can convince her to take his lj code, so we can keep up-to-date on her travels.
