We were going to have beef soup tonight. Then Mom had to go pick up Nicole from school, and she told me to keep an eye on it.
And then the traffic wherever they are got so bad they're not going anywhere. So Mom phoned me to say to turn the heat way down on the soup.
I did, as she told me to. When the soup didn't stop bubbling away, I even took it off the heat.
It still fried to the pot, and now the whole house smells like burned beef. I was stirring it regularly, and everything, but it's still burned sludge.
She'll kill me.
Edit: I TURNED DOWN THE WRONG BURNER! *cries*
