Un-be-LIEVABLE
May. 19th, 2003 04:02 pmSo I was cruising around lj, and I happened to come across this community:
antiemmaw. What is this community? Why, it's an anti-Emma Watson community!
*boggle*
I mean, what the fuck? I find anti-Avril communities and things like that hard enough to fanthom myself. But for christ's sake, an anti community for a little girl? Who's that sick?
After perusing the comm for awhile, the answer seems to be: other little girls, mostly. *sigh* This is something I NEVER understood about the young females of our species.
And the accusations leveled against our young "Miss Granger"? Well, she dresses like a slut, wears too much make-up, can't act and her boobs are fake.
...
Look, I'm not even going to address the acting issue - people have their own opinions - but the boob thing got on my nerves. I haven't been following Watson's breast development too closely, I assure you, so I don't know about this "suddenly appearing" thing, but... May I say, without getting TOO personal, that sudden, rapid breast growth of several sizes IS possible people, and it DOES happen at 12-13 years of age for some of us. *cough*
As for the dress and make-up, well, most of us dressed like that in junior high - I know I did - and we weren't in the public eye. 'Nuff said.
Oh, and this article was linked. I say "article" loosely, mind. This "article" is a petulant little whine written by...another 12 year old.
Far more than the idea that Emma Watson wears falsies, I'm disturbed by the concept that 12-year-olds with access to the internet can now put up sites and write articles on anything they wish. And the kicker? They don't have to say they're twelve. Plenty of adults put up sites and say things that indicate they never got a high-school education. How could you even tell the difference?
It's a disturbing thought, all right.
