Grrr. Another pissed-off post. I hope this doesn't get to be a habit. Then I'll have to go start a Dead Journal.

I was re-reading Annalee whats-her-face's article on how she's attracted to trans people, etc. I knew I didn't like it the first time, but now I REALLY don't like it. She's just fetishizing trans people's bodies in combo with their identities. She consistantly uses the WRONG pronouns and otherwise totally invalidates many trans people by refusing to admit not everyone wants to be "genderfucked."

I don't condemn anybody's sexuality or sexual choices (sometimes two separate things, yes) but I object to her wanting to be with trans people just b/c they ARE trans, and ignoring the fact that they are people too, and completely dis-respecting them. I hate to think of TG people being hurt by this woman, who refuses to accept them as anything but - shiver - transsexual.

If you fetishize trans people, fine. Unlike some, I won't object to that. But if this means that you cannot accept them for the boys and girls they are, then you have no right to seek a relationship. If you have a fetish, act like a fetishist - worship at those tranny's goddamn feet, and then get the hell out of their way!

*pant pant* Okay, I'm going to go calm down now.

daniel, i'm transsexual, and i was totally offended by that piece too. i didn't really get how it had to do with TS vs. TG anything, what do you mean?

also it's funny to me that you're all *shiver* "transsexual", because i shiver when i hear "transgendered".

But personally, I heard this quote once. "If you have a reason why you love someone, you only love that one things about them. If you can't find a reason, then you love them."

I can totally agree with you on why you are offended.

Um, I guess I was using "transgendered" and "transsexual" interchangably. This is not always the best choice, I suppose, although TS people are transgendered, and I got the impression she wasn't looking for people who were "only" transgendered "a little bit." God forbid they not be freaky enough for her!

And by the "shiver" comment, all I meant was that I objected to her getting all warm down below just because of what that word means to her, and not because of the person. I'm not sure that came across.

I just feel slightly wrong as thought I'm intruding on someone's thoughts. Anyways, I'm glad you like the quote. I just thought it was a good time to apply it.
