I just took a quick scan of my friendslist before I have to run off to work (I promise to get back to comments and such tonight!), and found this image via [livejournal.com profile] blackfolk:

...

Can I just say...

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?!

There are some people in [livejournal.com profile] blackfolk who don't think this ad is worthy of hatemail. I think these people have far more patience than I - that, or they refuse to let a really poorly designed ad get to them that much. I can respect that.

But personally, I just need to track down some addresses (which I'll be posting as soon as I find 'em), because I do not believe this. Please don't tell me that the people designing this ad MISSED the obvious problematic implications here, because THAT was the first thing to hit me between the eyes - not the overt intended message of the ad. WHOOPS GUYZ.

And if they DID miss it, then they need to be educated about what they missed real damn fast.

I can't believe this is a real ad. The fuck. Someone please find evidence this is a photoshopped joke. (That won't make it okay, but it will make it a bit better if a bunch of people trained in marketing didn't REALLY make this thoughtlessly designed ad.)

Just WTF.

I was going to use my ALL ABOARD THE FAILBOAT macro but realized that ad actually looks like a motherfucking slave ship.

EPIC FAIL

er... does not appear to be fake. at all.

lots of press about it and responses from intel.

here's a link to an intel blog site. yeah, still a blog, but it seems fairly official. strange ass viewpoints there... though there are some apparently well reasoned ones as well.
