blackfolk. The usual sort, but hey, it's a guilty pleasure reading people having ridiculous fights on the internets.

deedee_dancer's post, and then rattlerbrat's (which will be in my memories for-EVER, if for nothing other than the line, "Nowadays the racists sit up and pout, kicking their feet and quoting Avenue Q.") But no comment explosion. Lala. *scuffs feet*
Tonight I logged on, scrolled down my list, and saw ablackfolk post which contains the words "white people" and had 232 comments.
WIN!
*loads page, pops open a can of Monster, goes to pop Butter Lovers popcorn*
(Hey, like all I need is an EXCUSE to eat crap.)
In other news, I saw my doctor again today. I explained to her that while Ritalin has no major side effects for me at lower doses, once I get up to 15mgs in one dose, I get speedy and weird. Plus, I think it fucks with my blood pressure, I can't breathe properly AND my throat constricts.
(That last one is the effect that REALLY scares me, because I really don't need to take a drug that leaves me unable to BREATHE. Thanks.)
She suggested that it might take a while for a lower dose of Ritalin to come up to full effect, but I told her it really wasn't doing anything, and that I was nervous enough about it that I weaned myself off it. So she agreed I could try something else.
So when Mom comes home tonight, she should have filled my script for Adderall XR. Here's hoping it works better.
And finally...WHAT UP CSI? I watched CSI Miami last night, and the plot just...GAH.
At one point, a female victim is referred to by one of the main characters as "Virgin Mary." Because her name's Mary (I think?), she's had an infant (by C-section), but the baby is not genetically hers (plot twist!) and she hasn't had sex.
How do they know the latter? Why, her hymen is intact!
WTF? THANKS CSI, for continuing to promote the misinformation that the presence or absence of a hymen is proof of whether or not a female has had penetrative intercourse. Last time I checked, we were trying to get out the news that a female can
a) have had PIV sex and still have her hymen, or
b) be completely a virgin and NOT have her hymen, or even never have had one at all!
And as my MOTHER pointed out, the whole thing was hugely heteronormative as well.

Ugh. The stupid never ends. On a show where the characters regularly have to spout endless amounts of polysyllabic science, yet!
