Another dream post
Aug. 22nd, 2002 02:47 pmWell, I wasn't even gonna mention anything in reference to it, but since everyone else is, fuck, screw it.
Got this neat little quote off the
atheist community:
"That that is, is. That that is not, is not. Is that it? That is it.
Souls, gods, demons, angels, spirits, ghosts, heaven, hell, valhalla, asgard, olympus, hades, nothing. Nothing. Add all of those things up and put the resulting package on a scale, and it would weigh nothing. A single grain of sand outweighs them all. And that is why I will always have more faith in a grain of sand or a lump of dog crap then anything from the realm of myth and religion."
Anyway.
I had the weirdest dream last night. I think I was supposed to be in junior high, and we were going on a field trip to a museum. It was a strange museum though, and kids kept getting turned into animals there, usually coyotes, and then they fell into a big vat of black liquid and drowned.
Weirdly disturbing, but not frightening.
Then I was sitting in a chair, one of the few kids who had not been turned into an animal (which is odd, because I am so often inhuman in my dreams) and I was approached by this creature.
It seemed to be some kind of cross between some sort of cat with pale coloring (a snow leopard? a white tiger?) and some sort of canine (a wolf? a coyote?) and it padded right up to me where it had shunned the others. It graciously allowed me to pet its fur, even though it could have torn me apart, as I talked to it. It seemed to understand what I said, and respond. But be DAMNED if I can remember what I said. I can remember the sensation of talking, but whatever it was I said is lost to me now, as if I suddenly cannot understand my own words, or as if I were speaking a different language, or as if my "ears" won't function properly.
Most bizarre dream I've had in a while.
