Nicole, if you're reading this, I'm sorry you're going to see it twice, I know I already sent you an email.

I got two teeth pulled today. Yuck. I've never had any teeth pulled before, never even had a filling, so I was so fuckn' scared. I was hyperventilating all over the place, and sweating and shit..it was gross. I was so distracted by utter terror, I didn't even care that the dentist referred to me as a she.

The dentist didn't even freeze shit properly, so I felt them yank out one side, which hurt. So I thought after that it was all good, like I could handle it. Hah. Guess it was that build-up of nervous tension and whatnot, because I started to pass out. So I did what my mom drilled into me years ago - I got up, sat down in a chair, and put my head between my legs.

They didn't like that, because it would make me bleed more (also, I guess, I was drooling all over...=/) so I had to sit up. I've fainted a lot before, but never have I felt such a torturously slow slide into unconsciousness. The TV above my head slowly got blurry, bit by bit. Then I realized that I really wasn't going to pass out. I just made it to the sink. Gross. Not in years, I tell ya, I can't remember the last time I did that.

What really makes me mad is I don't know why I had that reaction. I thought it was all cool, that I could handle it and not wuss out. Grr. Seriously, I can't remember my last such wussy moment that was that bad.

So here I am, posting about my little insecurities about my manhood. *rolls eyes, sighs* Am I less a man b/c I puked? Naw, dawg, get over it...

Haven't been able to eat anything. Plus I'm afraid to try, what with these gaping holes in my gums.

Heh, you're a wussy and less of a man for vomiting, if I'm a wussy and less of a man for openly crying during sad movies.

DUDE! THAT SO DOES NOT COUNT! Ack, I cried during the first ten minutes of the Prince of Eygpt. Y'know, when Moses's mom puts him in the basket and floats him away and sings? Soooo sad. *sobs* Strange, tho...guess movies are my outlet, 'cuz I NEVER cry in real life.

That's awesome, I cried frequently during Prince of Egypt :-)

I may think it's *just* a story, and completely untrue, but it's a damn GOOD story ;-)

wow. you had a worse reaction than i did, and i'm horribly, horribly clinically phobic of needles. then again, when i had teeth out and they had to give me needles, they also gave me wicked strong tranquilizers to take before coming to the office, and then put me on nitrous oxide while there, and then used a weird spray thing to freeze the area where the needle was goin'... ehh. anyway. at least you're not afraid of butterflies like one guy i know is. :)

hope you're feeling better now and will be able to eat soon.

Oh, sure, thanks a lot. Someone who gets grossed out by dissecting hearts and eyes tells me my reaction was overboard, thanks soooo much, I needed that. Makes me feel so much better. *deeply sarcastic tone should have been noted by now*

But yeah, the shots hurt. Still sore there, actually. The worst was really when they ripped out the one on the right side, where they didn't freeze it right. I felt the main root tear. Like a piece of your skin tearing off, but thicker. *smiles pleasantly*

Yeah, I can eat. Whoo hoo!

the point of my telling you that was to show that i had to get three types of calming things (actual tranquilizers, nitrous oxide and the freezey thing) before i could even take the -needle- to numb the area :p you only got the freezey thing. so when you think about it, you did much better than doped-up me. i'm sure if they hadn't drugged me, i woulda been much worse. i have been in the past.

and yay for eating :)

Well, when you get teeth pulled, they take a needle and stab you in the roof of your mouth and inject this chemical that makes your gums go numb, so you can't feel any pain when they rip your teeth out. Actually "freeze" is not quite right, because it feels...hot...not cold.

And, as I mentioned, they didn't freeze things right, so I kinda felt them pull one tooth out. :(

You're reading back through my entries? :) <3

Ahhhh. Okies. Now I get what you mean. Yeah..nummy stuff is the best. ^-^ All the teeth that I've lost have been pulled out by the dentist..except for two (thanks to a poorly aimed basketball)
