What the shit is this?
Aug. 13th, 2003 02:55 amAn essay - that's right folks, an ESSAY - about how evil fandom_wank is.
Fandom_wank responds.
This is just too incredibly hilarious. Hi-LAR-ious.
Essentially, this woman is bashing fandom_wank for making fun of people. New? Not hardly. Lots of people complain about that, and they may have a legit beef - I'm not going to argue that one way or the other in this post. But this one has a new twist - she's bashing fandom_wankers because we can't understand why people would take deep meaningful conversations about "metaphysics and theology" seriously.
Never mind the irony of her condescending tone - apparently she's mistaken "pointing and laughing at people who don't realize how SILLY it is to get all up in arms about the HP movies not having the right House colors," as mocking deep and philosophical conversation.
I mean, am I missing something here? She IS talking about fandom_wank as a whole, right? (It's so awfully hard to tell, what with the separate sections for f_w members - I think I might be confusing this with a personal vendetta? Someone let me know, kthanx!)
There's really too many funny bits to go into here, but this is my favorite part: where she accuses fandom_wankers - wait, scratch that, not just f_w, but all of Journalfen - to be part of some sort of secret club. And only those who are friends with the right people can get journals at Journalfen.
Um, what? I didn't know ANYONE there when I snagged a code. I just asked for a free code at the codes community, like any other random person stumbling across the site.
It amuses the hell out of me that she is calling all the members of a huge community "pea-brains" for their involvement in said community, yet she's such a dipshit she couldn't find the codes community on her own.

Date: 2003-08-13 10:36 am (UTC)It looks like something written for an English 1A class by someone who is trying to impress a professor, but doesn't realize that the prof is going to be holding their nose the whole way through.
(I used to write like that :P )
