Buah ha ha. My mother is an idiot.

We decided to go to Ikea today to get bookshelves for my room and my sister's. Well, actually, Mom and Nicole decided. I felt sick - I think I have food poisoning - but apparently I didn't get a choice. So I got dressed and went through my morning routine - which takes at least 20 minutes - and then we were off.

So we get all the way to Ikea, right? And we're in the parking lot, and Nikki makes a really stupid comment. I make a snide remark, Nikki kicks me, and Mom...flips out.

We snipe at each other a lot these days. I can understand why Mom would be sick of it. I would be too. I know we were being little shits, I'm not trying to claim we weren't, or that we didn't deserve getting told off. But what does she do? Decide we're going back home. Because my sister and me are immature brats.

Oh, yes. So throwing a hissy fit and wasting gas on a pointless round-trip - which only means we'll have to go back, of course - is SO mature and obviously the adult way to deal. Mmmm-hmm. What is even more amusing about this is that if I told Mom that snide remarks are not on par with wasting gas as far as stupidity goes, she'd probably smack me. Which is different from Nicole and I thumping each other, because, you know, she's punishing me for my big mouth or something. Which is obviously so much different.

I mean, we didn't get it from HER, or anything. No sir.

So I get to listen to Mom trying to fill silence and Nicole sniffling all the way home. Nicole wanted to get bookcases right away, see, because she unpacked a whole bunch of her stuff and left it lying all over her room. I won't comment on THAT one.

The world is full of stupid people.

Ah, indeed. Explains the immaturity.

You know, when I was 15, everyone told me, "Someday you'll look back and realize how stupid you were." I didn't believe them.

But boy, was I stupid.

I'm sorry about all that. In all of y'all's defense, I gotta say that moving and home crap really can change a person, at least temporarily. I think I'm all back to normal now, yep.

.... ancient roman sewers??

oh, sorry...

I was so distracted by your icon again that I forgot what I was going to say.

*big huge hugs*

You're so right about the "getting it from her..." that makes it all the more ironic for it to piss her off and for her to punish anyone for it. Trouble is... introspection tends to piss people off when they're doing something that they know they shouldn't, much less when they see it reflected back to them in their own offspring, who they raised. Pissed off'edness almost always wins when it goes up against introspection, unfortunately.

:(

That's a trick used on many a three-year-old, get to a store of some sort and if they play up just go home (deprivation is a good punishment apparently). I've never heard of it being used on teenagers though...

amen to that. it doesn't work on 3 year olds, either... it's just plain punitive.
um.. not like I'd know from experience or anything... no.

It's a pointless waste of gas, is what it is. *shakes head*

And 3 year olds? They'll forget in a few hours anyway, meanwhile you have to listen to them scream. What's the point?

ah!!! ok....
I swear... that took a bit of doing.

see, cause his hand part looks all white, with the dark part that looks like someones shadow, so it looked like an alcove or something, with the V of the sweater being a curved wall or something...

eh... nm

it's from Kung Fu, the TV show from the 70's.

The master person said (at the start of every show,) "when you can snatch the pebble from my hand, grasshopper, then you will be ready."

and the kid never could.

well, he did later, obviously, because they made a show about him.

it was fiction.

Oh, and the master was blind.

and the half-chinese Buddhist monk guy could (and did) kick serious ass. It was a western. He was always preaching peace and kicking ass. Funny stuff. :P
