Amazingly, my first day of Costumes (gack!) didn't go so badly.

In fact, I have hope yet for that 4.0 GPA.

My prof is very, very nice, and looked horrified by my story of my old home ec teacher.

Then, today in lab, we made period costumes out of newspaper and masking tape. (Lots and LOTS of masking tape.) It sounds nutty; and when the teacher first told us what we'd be doing, I thought she was nuts, as well.

She gave out drawings of these costumes. Little berets with rosettes, tassels, codpieces, hooped skirts, big fur coats, long draping sleeves....

I just looked at her. I mean, she wanted us to make this shit out of NEWSPAPER? Give. Me. A. Break.

But it turned out to be a blast. She gave us no instructions on how to do it, and soon we were having fun with our own origami creations. It was like being a kid again..just some scissors and tape, and CREATE!
