I have a Darwin fish sticker and yoooou don't!

*walks around with sticker stuck on his forehead*

I spent the last several days in a depressive funk over the letter that arrived from SAIT in response to my application. I've been accepted into the pool for the JOURNALISM ARTS program (they keep bolding it as though I'll forget what program I applied to), and all I have to do is write a 500 word essay for them and submit a resume.

A resume. A resume. I have more holes in my history than anyone else my age I know. Well, except for a couple of guys I know who were expelled in high school. Ugh.

My mom and I went through the whole laundry list of things they want on this resume last night. She made me feel a lot better about the whole thing by pointing out the things that would probably only be expected for someone a great deal older than me (i.e. years of supervisory positions) and pointed out the things I can put on.

So I feel a little better. A little.

Come on I got an internship job with basically nothing on my resume. It all depends on their process sometimes all you have to do is catch their eye for a second. And if you do some good editing on your resume then it can look really good and professional :) I'm sure thats the only reason I got hired at all :D

Heh, everyone I talk to about this keeps telling me how much their resume sucks, so I shouldn't worry about it. Apparently no one can write a good resume, it's a lost art.

You just need to put your best stuff up front and creatively fill out the skinny sections. :) There's a LOT of stuff available on how to write a good resume but the most important part is getting people to edit it for you to point out things to improve.

I'm glad the fish got there. Please treat the tape as a member of the family, as it has always been one of my most beloved possesions and it really really needs to be watched from time to time in order to preserve its sanity. In case you have already figured it out, I took advantage of your not knowing Vincent Vega to upgrade to the Collector's DVD version.

Speaking of DVDs, um..
did the dvd player that I sent you ever arrive?

It'll be handled with care. Since it is "one of [your] most beloved possesions," I can send it back right as soon as I'm done with it.

The DVD player thing is a joke...right?
