Huh?
Something I've been thinking about...why are there so many ADULTS on my Friends of list?
I'm generally very cautious about adding any adults. I have heard the winds tell of "grown-ups" who get very cranky when they see a twitty teenager adding them and commenting.
When adults add me back, I generally assume it to be courtesy, but lately, adults are adding me FIRST. Wassup?
I would not be intimidated if the people adding me were clearly not too bright, but that hasn't been the case. I get this feeling that is almost dread when I go to a user info page to add back, and I see something like:
Why do these people add me? Really? Now I feel so pressured to be witty and...um...and um...NOT DUMB! Yes, that's the word I was searching for.
I think to myself, "Well THIS one won't last long," as I add them, but the funny thing is, I've only been dropped by two people so far. *shrug* I'm just getting this "other shoe" feeling.

"I'm Richard, I'm gay, 39, and a rocket scientist. I'm currently working on my "Theory of Everything," which basically explains everything in the universe, although it's a little long to summarize here. The working title of my theory is "The Meaning of Life," but that could change. It's already patented. I live with my partner, Cory."

you didn't leave specifications. Sir.
*helpless shrug*
:P
Have you seen "The Big Hit"? Mark Walhberg's character says, "I just can't stand the idea of anybody not liking me." Well, that's me (minus the cool guns and explosions.)
I guess I would rather avoid any situation where it is possible that someone might say, "You know what? You're really not the person I want to bother reading." Of course, it happens sometimes, that people add, and decide it was a mistake...and it may be nothing personal, exactly. There are people I would not want to read every day simply because their life doesn't really interest me, not because there's something wrong with them.
But it is still my automatic reaction to say, "There's something wrong with me [if I can't please everyone]."
