HMD Tuesdays #1 - Back to Basics
If you're not a House, M.D. fan, there will be no reason WHATSOEVER to click the cut link. None.
If, on the other hand, you ARE (or you're just that curious), this is the first of my "HMD Tuesdays" answers. It's just like a "Friday Five," but House specific, and posted on Tuesdays. See?

I'll be posting my answers here (and probably not there) in the future, but they'll all be behind cuts, and lacking this preamble, so people can ignore them if they want.
Anyhoo.
1. Which Season is your favorite so far? How come?
Season 1. Some of the best episodes (and a lot of good H/W moments) ARE in the second season. But S1 introduced me to the characters, caught me up on what was happening (I came in late S2), and was the only season I got to know watching alone on DVD - I think I feel closer to that season for that reason alone.
Most importantly, it was a more formal introduction to Dr. Gregory House - one of two fictional characters I think the creators stole part of my soul to make. Which just gives S1 that competitive edge in the race to "favourite EVAR."
2. What's your favorite Houseism?
Sorry. Up late. Internet porn. Either that, or That's why I cleverly have no personal life.
I suck at picking favourites for almost anything though, and I tend to really like longer House quotes that don't really count as "Houseisms." (Some of favourites of which are in my userinfo. Those being:
Dying people lie too. Wish they'd worked less, been nicer, opened orphanages for kittens. If you really want to do something, you do it. You don't save it for a sound bite.
You took a chance, you did something great. You were wrong, but it was still great. You should feel great that it was great. You should feel like crap that it was wrong. That's the difference between him and me. He thinks you do your job, and what will be, will be. I think that what I do and what you do matters. He sleeps better at night. He shouldn't.)
Those are the ones that stick with me moreso than the quips.
3. Which duckling is your favorite? Why?
Currently, Chase. I really wasn't sure about him in the first season, when he betrayed House. But I think I grok that choice better now, and it's water under the bridge in my mind.
I originally quite liked Foreman (I loved him telling off House over that black clinic patient), and I don't think he's as much of a jerk as he's half trying to be to convince himself that quitting is the right thing to do.
But I really loving Chase right now, and he's always been the most House-like in the way he thinks.
4. What's your OTP?
House/Wilson. Like, duh, there is no other pairing! The show wouldn't exist without it.
But I'll take essentially any combination of the House/Wilson/Stacy trio, the House/Wilson/Chase trio, and the House/Wilson/Tritter trio. That may make me a slut.
5. When did you become obsessed with the show?
Late S2. The first episode I saw parts of was "Humpty Dumpty," and completely hated it, and swore never to watch that stupid "House" show again. (I still pretend that episode never happened.)
The second episode I saw was "Euphoria I" and that caught my attention. (House shooting the cadaver? The bullets sucking out it's skull and SLAMMING into the inside of the MRI machine, with subsequent power failure? FRIGGIN' AWESOME.) I then watched the rest of the season, and "No Reason" was what made me completely obsessed.
...And that's basically all I'm doing on lj for a while, because I have to run off and get some yay-my-day-off errands done. Gotta hit the library, go to the bank...go to the mall, maybe. We need BUG SWATTERS, ARGH.
